Shiji, one of the twenty-four histories, was originally called"TaiShi Gong Shu" or "Tai Shi Gong Ji" or "Tai Shi Ji". It isahistorical book written by Sima Qian, a historian of theWesternHan Dynasty. It is the first general history of historicalrecordsin Chinese history. It has a history of more than 3000 yearsfromthe time of Huangdi in ancient legends to the four years ofEmperorWudi of Han Dynasty.
